LINE: Scan the QR code to add friend, then invite Yilingbot to the group. Discord/Slack/Telegram: Click the invite link on the page, select server/workspace/group and authorize. Once added, type /menu to set languages and start.
Translation supports 100+ languages including Chinese (Traditional/Simplified), English, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indonesian and more. The interface supports 8 languages.
Free plan resets 500 chars/month. Paid plans are one-time purchases (not subscription), credits stackable, valid for 30 days from purchase. Anyone in the group can buy credits.
Type /menu in your group, select "Purchase Credits" or "Upgrade Plan", choose a payment method and complete the purchase. Activation is automatic — no extra setup needed.
You can purchase any plan anytime. Credits stack (remaining + new plan), expiration extends 30 days from purchase. Example: Lite has 10,000 chars left, purchase Pro becomes 130,000 chars.
One-way mode uses one target language for eligible text messages; bidirectional mode uses two languages and translates eligible messages between them; multi-language mode supports 2–4 languages and translates eligible messages into the other active languages. You can switch modes from the menu.
Billing is based on the number of output languages: a message translated into N languages costs N× the character quota. For example, in multi-language mode with 4 languages, a 10-character message is translated into the other 3 languages and costs 30 characters.
Start your message with $ — the entire message won't be translated and won't count toward your quota. Example: $This sentence will not be translated.
Yilingbot does not keep message text or chat history after processing. It retains anonymized usage and translation event records needed to operate the service; these records are automatically cleaned up after 90 days.
No. Each platform runs its own Yilingbot — LINE, Telegram, Discord, and Slack are separate bots, and credits are calculated separately on each platform. To use Yilingbot on a platform, add that platform's bot to your group there; credits are not shared across platforms.
Automatic translation is not always perfect, but how you write makes a difference. Tips for better results: write complete sentences with punctuation; keep one idea per message; don't drop the subject; go easy on slang, memes, and abbreviations; avoid mixing languages. Choosing the right translation mode and languages also helps. For sensitive or professional material, ask the author to clarify or use $ to leave the message untranslated.
Emoji, Thai, Korean, and other combined text can look different from the number of characters the system counts. LINE custom emoji work the same way. Messages with text use credits based on the system character count; emoji-only messages are not translated and use no credits.
